Removing And Installing Wire Harness For Front-End
Preliminary work for removing and installing wire harness for front-end
1. Remove the front apron.
INFORMATION: On vehicles with sensors for pedestrian protection, the ground strap for the battery must be disconnected before removing the plug connections.
2. Disconnect the ground strap at the battery if necessary.
Removing wire harness for front-end
INFORMATION" The number of plug connections can vary, depending on equipment.
1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
2. Release electric plug connection at the connection point -1- ( -a- ) and pull it off.
3. Release and disconnect electric plug connections at the horn -2- and -7-.
4. Release and disconnect electric plug connections at the sensors for pedestrian safety -3- and -9-.
5. Release and disconnect electric plug connection at the outside temperature sensor -8-.
6. Release and disconnect electric plug connection at the microswitch for the front lid lock -4-.
7. Release and disconnect electric plug connection at the control unit for the garage door opener -5-.
8. Release and disconnect electric plug connection at the ACC system -6-.
9. Remove the nine clips and the clip on the wire harness junction.
10. Remove the wire harness.
Installing wire harness for front-end
INFORMATION: The number of plug connections can vary, depending on equipment.
1. Position the wire harness and fit the nine clips as well as the clip at the wire harness junction.
2. Plug in electric plug connection at the horn -2- and -7- until the connector clicks into place.
3. Plug in electric plug connection at the sensors for pedestrian safety -3- and -9- until the connector clicks into place.
4. Plug in electric plug connection at the outside temperature sensor -8- until it clicks into place.
5. Plug in electric plug connection at the ACC system -6- until the connector clicks into place.
6. Plug in electric plug connection at the microswitch for the front lid lock -4- until the connector clicks into place.
7. Plug in electric plug connection at the control unit for the garage door opener -5- until the connector clicks into place.
8. Plug in electric plug connection at the connection point for the front-end wire harness -1- until the connector clicks into place.
Subsequent work for removing and installing wire harness for front-end
1. Fasten the ground strap to the battery if necessary.
2. Install the front apron.
