Rear Door Window Glass: Adjustments

Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Remove rear door sub-frame. -> 646019 Removing and installing rear door window - section on "Removing" 646019 Removing and Installing Rear Door Window
2. Remove rear power window motor. -> 646119 Removing and installing rear power window motor - section on "Removing"

Adjusting rear door window (parallel positioning)

1. Unscrew fastening screw for door window glass.
2. Align the catches for the door window mounting.





Aligning door window glass

2.1. Roll the door window up fully.
2.2. Align the door window until it is parallel with the B-pillar trim and corner window pane -A-.
2.3. Check that the catches are adjusted without tension and re-adjust them if necessary -B-.
3. Screw in fastening screw -1- => Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.).





Securing door window

Subsequent work

1. Install rear power window motor. -> 646119 Removing and installing rear power window motor - section on "Installing"
2. Install rear door sub-frame. -> 583019 Removing and installing rear door sub-frame - section on "Installing" 583019 Removing and Installing Rear Door Sub-frame

Adjusting rear door window (end stop)

1. Check the end position at the top.





Adjusting door window glass

1.1. Close the door window fully.
1.2. Mark the lower edge of the window guide at several places on the window.
1.3. Open the door window approx. 5 cm.
1.4. Measure the distance from the markings to the upper edge of the window.
2. Adjust the end position.
2.1. Roll the door window down fully.
2.2. Prise out the window channel seal at the moulding -5- and additional seal for the door window -4- ( -A- ) until you can reach the adjusting screw -3-.





Accessing the end stop

2.3. Guide in Allen key -B-.
2.4. Adjust the difference from the measured dimension => 1.4. and nominal value => Adjustment value: 7 mm at the end-stop adjusting screw -3-.

2.5. Remove markings on the door window glass.
2.6. Close the door window and check the end position again.
