Preliminary work

Remove cover for front middle backrest. => 742019 Removing and installing front middle backrest cover (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Removing"

Removing loop for backrest release





Installation position of loop for backrest release (folding sports bucket seat)

1. Pull off the cover -1- at the Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- ( -arrows- ).

2. Carefully detach foam part of backrest -1- at the bonding points -2- , starting at the bottom and remove it -arrows-.

3. Insert a screwdriver between the bowden cable -1- and lower bracket -2- and press out the bowden cable -arrows A-.

4. Insert a screwdriver between the bowden cable -1- and upper brackets -3- and press out the bowden cable -arrow B-.
5. Pull loop -1- and bowden cable -2- out of the collar -3- ( -arrow A- ).

6. Swivel loop -1- in -direction of arrow B- and disengage bowden cable -2-.

Installing loop for backrest release

1. Pull bowden cable out through the backrest shell.

Information

When engaging the bowden cable, make sure that the cables are not twisted.

2. Engage bowden cable -2- at the loop -1- ( -arrow A- ).

3. Guide loop -1- into the collar -3- ( -arrow B- ).
4. Press bowden cable -1- into the upper bracket -3- ( -arrow A- ).

5. Press bowden cable -1- into the lower brackets -2- ( -arrows B- ).
6. Check backrest release by pulling the loop.
7. Check bonding points -2- on the foam part -1- and apply new adhesive if necessary.





Installing foam part of backrest

8. Position foam part -1- ( -arrows- ) and press it on at the bonding points -2-.
9. Align cover -1- with the side bolsters.





Loosening Velcro fasteners

Information

Make sure the Velcro fasteners join cleanly.

10. Press on Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- ( -arrows- ).

Subsequent work

Install cover for front middle backrest. => 742019 Removing and installing front middle backrest cover (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Installing"
