Technical values
Preliminary work
1. Remove additional brake light. => 947019 Removing and installing additional brake light - section on "Removing"
2. Remove upper part of rear lid lock. => 558719 Removing and installing upper part of rear lid lock - section on "Removing"
3. Remove rear logo. => 665019 Removing and installing rear logo - section on "Removing"
4. Switch on ignition and extend spoiler manually.
5. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
6. Remove rear lid. => 559019 Removing and installing rear lid - section on "Removing"
Disassembling rear lid
Removing fan with fan housing
Overview of rear lid
1. Disconnect plug connections for fan and engine compartment lighting on the fan housing -inset-.

2. Unscrew fastening screws -1- and remove fan with fan housing -2-.

1. Pull air guide -1- off the rear lid -2- ( -arrow- ).

1. Unscrew adjusting element -1- in -direction of arrow- and remove it from the rear lid -2-.

Removing upper part of spoiler
1. Press out plastic stopper -1- ( -arrow A- ).

2. Unscrew clamping screw -2- by about 2 to 3 turns and remove upper part of spoiler -3- in an upward direction -arrow B-.

1. Press out expansion rivet -1-.

2. Pull rail -2- out in -direction of arrow- and remove from lower part of spoiler -3-.

1. Press out clamping washers -1- with a screwdriver. The clamping washers will be damaged irreparably during removal.

2. Remove fastening rail -2- and folding wall -3- from the rear lid.

1. Unscrew fastening nuts -1- from the lower part of the spoiler -2- and hinge -3-. Remove threaded plate -4-.

2. Unscrew fastening screws -5- from the lower part of the spoiler and spoiler drive. Remove the plate -6-.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- and remove the hinge -2-.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1-.

2. Fold spoiler drive -2- down out of the rear lid -3- ( -arrows- ).
3. Remove wire harness for rear spoiler. => Removing and installing wire harness for rear spoiler

1. Pull rubber cover -1- out of the rear lid -2-.

Assembling rear lid
Installing reflector cover
1. Clean bonding surface on rear lid and reflector cover with isopropanol.
2. Stick adhesive tape in the area marked -A- on the underside of the reflector cover -1-.

3. Check fixing clips and replace them if necessary.
4. Remove protective film from adhesive tape.
5. Position reflector cover -2- in the middle of the rear lid using the centering pin -arrows A-.

6. Press on reflector cover -2- until the fixing clips -3- engage in the lid panel.
7. Screw in fastening screws -1- at the sides.
8. Press on the reflector cover -1- in area -A- of the adhesive tape -arrows-.

9. Tighten fastening screws -2- at the sides. => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

1. Position rubber cover -1- on the rear lid -2- and press it in.

Installing spoiler drive
1. Install wire harness for rear spoiler. => Removing and installing wire harness for rear spoiler
2. Fold the spoiler drive -2- up -arrows- and position it on the rear lid -3-.

3. Screw in fastening screws -1- on the spoiler drive -2-. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

1. Position lower part of spoiler -2- on the hinge -3-. Using the threaded plate -4- and the fastening nuts -1- , screw in the lower part of the spoiler securely. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Information
Only screw on the lower part of the spoiler when the mount is fully retracted, otherwise you may hear noises when extending and retracting the spoiler or there may be warping between the lower part of the spoiler and the mount.
2. Position plate -6- on the lower part of the spoiler and secure with the fastening screws -5-. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

1. Position hinge -2- on the rear lid and secure with fastening screws -1-. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Installing folding wall on rear lid
1. Position the rail -2- on the folding wall -3- and on the rear lid.

2. Fit new clamping washers -1- on the pegs of the rail.

1. Insert the rail -2- with the folding wall into the lower part of the spoiler in -direction of arrow-.

2. Press in expansion rivet -1-.
Installing upper part of spoiler
1. Fit upper part of spoiler -1- on the lower part of the spoiler -2- ( -arrow- ). Ensure that the locking lugs -inset- have engaged.

2. Tighten clamping screws -2-. => Tightening torque: 3.0 Nm (2.0 ftlb.)+/-1.5 Nm (1.0 ftlb.)

3. Press in plastic stopper -1- ( -arrow- ).

1. Screw in adjusting element -1- in -direction of arrow- and fit it into the rear lid -2-.

Installing air guide
1. Position the air guide -1- on the rear lid -2- ( -arrow- ) and insert it.

Installing fan with fan housing
1. Fit fan with fan housing -2- and secure with the fastening screws -1-. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2. Connect connectors for fan and engine compartment lighting on the fan housing -inset-.
Subsequent work
1. Install upper part of rear lid lock. => 558719 Removing and installing upper part of rear lid lock - section on "Installing"
2. Install additional brake light. => 947019 Removing and installing additional brake light - section on "Installing"
3. Install rear logo. => 665019 Removing and installing rear logo - section on "Installing"
4. Install rear lid. => 5590 Removing and installing rear lid - section on "Installing"
