1. Insert a screwdriver -1- under the lugs and press upwards slightly -arrow A-.

NOTICE
Incorrect line routing
- Risk of damage to lines and hoses
- Malfunction and fault memory entry on control unit
-> Avoid small bending radii when routing lines.
-> File down edges and burrs in the routing area or mask them with adhesive tape.
-> Maintain a sufficient distance from components exposed to high temperatures while driving.
Information
The routing of the wire harness for the control unit must be checked before installing the seat.
Routing of wire harness
The wire harness must not be routed over the cover, but should be laid along side the cover -A-.
Information
Before installing and securing the front seat, make sure the electric lines are not pinched or damaged.
1. Place front seat in car and tilt backwards.

2. Check tie-wrap -1- , replace tie-wrap -1- if necessary.
3. Clip wire harness -2- into place.

WARNING
Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
-> Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
-> Observe specified tightening torques.
-> Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.
Information
Always replace the fastening screws on the front seat after customer service and reworking. The micro-self-locking or self-tapping screws must not be treated, greased or loosened and then screwed on again.
1. Tip seat forwards and position seat rails on the seat base frame.

2. Screw left and right fastening screws -1- into seat bracket -2- and tighten to specified tightening torque=> Micro-encapsulated: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.).

1. Push seat rail cover -1- into front end of the left and right seat rails -arrow A- until the locking tab audibly engages -arrow B-.

WARNING
Incorrect information for the AWS control unit
- Passenger's airbag is triggered incorrectly
-> Calibrate the AWS control unit if the passenger's seat was removed and re-installed, or if the seat bracket or AWS control unit was replaced.
-> Do not loosen the safety screws on the AWS sensors or seat frame.
-> Only replace retainer plate for seat adjustment motor on vehicles without AWS sensors.
-> Always replace the retainer plate together with the seat frame on vehicles with an AWS sensor.
