Safety instructions for work on car windows

Material damage when removing the glass from car windows

NOTICE

Windscreen removed incorrectly

- Risk of damage to vehicle identification number (VIN) label
- Risk of damage to paintwork

-> When cutting out the windscreen, make sure that the label with the vehicle identification number (VIN) is not damaged.

Material damage when inserting the glass into car windows

CAUTION

Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed!

- There will not be a proper adhesive bond if the prescribed curing time of the adhesive is not observed!

-> The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
-> Curing time: 3 hours
-> Temperature: at least 10°C
-> Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

NOTICE

Sliding-roof frame removed/fitted incorrectly

- Risk of damage to seats

-> Fold rear seat assembly over and tilt the front-seat backrests back.

NOTICE

Incorrect handling of sliding/tilting roof

- Risk of damage to rear water drainage channel
- Risk of damage to sliding roof mechanism

-> Do not move the sliding-roof frame to the "Open" position when the sliding-roof panels have been removed.
-> The trim panel on the sliding/tilting roof must be shifted without the use of force.

Safety instructions for the heat shield

NOTICE

Heat protection panels not fitted correctly

- Risk of damage to adjacent parts

-> Make sure the heat protection panels overlap correctly.
-> Replace damaged or distorted heat protection panels.
-> Check heat protection panels for deformation, fixing of the aluminium braided cord, tears and missing or damaged fixing tabs.
-> More than 80% of the total sealing area must be sealed without gaps.
