Adjustment dimensions of the bumper
Information
- To reduce adjustment work to a minimum when fitting the rear apron, the rear bumper and rear retaining strip must be aligned with the lower edge of the rear lid according to the dimensions shown.
- However, the precondition for precise positioning of the components is that the rear lid is optimally adjusted and correctly locked in the lock in accordance with the joining plan, before the rear bumper and rear retaining strip are fitted.
Information
All measurements refer to the position V = 280 mm.
1. Adjust the rear lid according to the joining plan. => 5 Diagram - body gap dimensions
Adjustment dimensions of the bumper
2. Adjust both sides of rear bumper -2, 2A- to dimension -Y- => Adjustment value: 171 mm. The measurements can be changed by loosening and moving the impact pipes and impact absorbers (Canada version).
3. Adjust rear retaining strip -1- to dimension -X- => Adjustment value: 173 mm.
Correct assembly of the heat protection panels
NOTICE
Heat protection panels not fitted correctly
- Risk of damage to adjacent parts
-> Make sure the heat protection panels overlap correctly.
-> Replace damaged or distorted heat protection panels.
-> Check heat protection panels for deformation, fixing of the aluminium braided cord, tears and missing or damaged fixing tabs.
-> More than 80% of the total sealing area must be sealed without gaps.
Information
All measurements refer to the position V = 280 mm.
1. After fitting the rear trim panel, check the gap -W- => Adjustment value: 40 mm between the heat protection panel on the exhaust system -1- and the lower retaining strip -2-. The heat protection panel must not project over -Z- the lower retaining strip by more than the dimension => Adjustment value: 2 mm.
