Technical values






Preliminary work

1. Remove air cleaner housing -> 242519 Removing and installing air cleaner housing - section on "Removing".
2. Remove rear wheels using special tool socket-wrench insert P300. -> 44051900 Removing and installing wheel - section on "Removing".
3. Remove rear apron -> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron - section on "Removing".
4. Remove bumper -> 635019 Removing and installing rear bumper - section on "Removing".
5. Remove the two charge air coolers -> 214319 Removing and installing charge air cooler - section on "Removing".

Removing cover plate

CAUTION

Risk of engine dropping down.

- Danger of fatal injury and damage to property.

-> Secure the engine with a suitable mounting jack.

1. Support engine with a mounting jack.
2. Screw off M12 collar nuts on the two engine mountings.
3. Lower engine carefully.
4. Remove heat protection panels at the sides by screwing off the two speed nuts on each one -> 635019 Removing and installing rear bumper - section on "Removing".
5. Unscrew two Torx screws (M6 x 12) -Arrows- and remove cover plates.

Installing cover plate

1. Insert the cover plates again and fit them using two Torx screws (M6 x 12) -Arrows- on each one.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

CAUTION

Assembly of deformed heat shields.

- Damage will be caused through heat build up if deformed heat shields are installed.

-> Check heat shields for deformation, fixing of the aluminium braided cord, tears and missing or damaged fixing tabs.
-> Damaged or distorted heat shields must be straightened or replaced.

2. Fit heat protection panels at the sides by screwing on and tightening the two speed nuts on each one -> 635019 Removing and installing rear bumper - section on "Installing". => Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.)

CAUTION

Risk of engine dropping down.

- Danger of fatal injury and damage to property.

-> Secure the engine with a suitable mounting jack.

3. Lift the engine with the mounting jack.
4. Fit and tighten M12 collar nuts on the engine mountings.=> Tightening torque: 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)
5. Remove mounting jack.

Subsequent work

1. Install the two charge air coolers -> 214319 Removing and installing charge air cooler - section on "Installing".
2. Install bumper -> 635019 Removing and installing rear bumper - section on "Installing".
3. Install rear apron -> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron - section on "Installing".
4. Install rear wheels using special tool socket-wrench insert P300. -> 44051900 Removing and installing wheel - section on "Installing".
5. Install air cleaner housing -> 242519 Removing and installing air cleaner housing - section on "Installing".
