-> W90200 Workshop campaign W902 - Reworking adjustment mechanism for Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG).
1. Raise the vehicle on a lifting platform.
-> 4X00IN01 Lifting the vehicle.
Information
If the actuating rods will not move or do not return automatically to their original position, replace the turbocharger.
-> 213019 Removing and installing turbocharger.
2. Check adjustment mechanism on turbocharger for cylinder bank 1-3 and cylinder bank 4-6.
2.1. Check adjustment mechanism -arrow- on turbocharger for cylinder bank 1-3 -1-.
Position of actuating rod for cylinder bank 1-3
2.1.1. To do this, press the actuating rod down as far as it will go.

2.1.2. Check to see if the actuating rod returns automatically to its original position.
2.2. Check adjustment mechanism -arrow- on turbocharger for cylinder bank 4-6 -1-.

2.2.1. Press the actuating rod up as far as it will go.

2.2.2. Check to see if the actuating rod returns automatically to its original position.
3. Grease ball joints on adjustment mechanism for cylinder bank 1-3 and cylinder bank 4-6.
3.1. Spray lubricant WSP 5040 (Part No.: 999.917.778.00) on the bottom -arrow 1- and top ball joint -arrow 2- on cylinder bank 1-3 until a lubricating film is visible between the ball joint and ball socket.

3.2. Spray lubricant WSP 5040 (Part No.: 999.917.778.00) on the bottom -arrow 1- and top ball joint -arrow 2- on cylinder bank 4-6 until a lubricating film is visible between the ball joint and ball socket.

3.3. Actuate the adjustment mechanism several times on both sides.
4. Remove the vehicle from the lifting platform.
5. Adapt the electronic adjusters using the PIWIS Tester 9718.
