1. Remove the engine.

Removing oil feed line
Removing oil feed line - cylinder bank 1-3
NOTICE

-> Protect components from dirt and contamination.
-> Clean or replace dirty components.

Oil feed line, cylinder bank 1-3
1. Remove intake manifold, cylinder bank 1-3.
1.1. Remove rubber grommet. Disconnect cable plug from electronic adjuster.
1.2. Unscrew two external M6 Torx screws -2- from turbocharger.

1.3. Remove protective grille -1-.
1.4. Detach intake manifold at connection piece and remove from bracket on engine.
1.5. Detach vacuum line -2- from ambient air valve.

2. Detach rubber-coated holding clamp -4- for oil feed line -3- from camshaft housing cover.
2.1. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw.

3. Detach oil feed line -1- from cylinder head 1-3.

-> Close off all openings immediately after exposing them (with adhesive tape, suitable stoppers).
3.1. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw -2- and detach line.

4. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screws -5 and 6- from the coolant line bracket and lay lines aside.

-> Close off all openings immediately after exposing them (with adhesive tape, suitable stoppers).
5. Detach three lines at turbocharger and lay lines aside.
Close off bores immediately after detaching a line.
Lines on turbocharger
5.1. Detach vent line -1- to turbocharger oil tank. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.
5.2. Detach lower coolant line -1-. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw -2- and detach line.

5.3. Detach upper coolant line -1-. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw -2- and detach line.
Upper coolant line 1-3
6. Detach oil feed line -2- from turbocharger.

NOTICE

-> Close off all openings immediately after exposing them (with adhesive tape, suitable stoppers).
6.1. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw -3- and detach oil feed line.
7. Guide out oil feed line.
8. Replace O-rings on all lines and clean connections.
9. Make sure to check connection bores on turbocharger for dirt and clean carefully.

Oil feed line, cylinder bank 4-6
1. Remove intake manifold, cylinder bank 4-6.
1.1. Disconnect cable plug from electronic adjuster -1-.
1.2. Unscrew two M6 x 12 external Torx screws -Arrows-.

1.3. Detach intake manifold at connection piece and detach from bracket on engine.
1.4. Detach vacuum line -3- from ambient air valve.

1.5. Disconnecting positive crankcase ventilation -4-.
2. Detach holding clamp -2- for oil feed line -1- on bracket.
2.1. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw.

3. Detach oil feed line from cylinder head 4-6.

-> Close off all openings immediately after exposing them (with adhesive tape, suitable stoppers).
3.1. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw -3- and detach oil feed line.
4. Unscrew M6 x 12 external Torx screw -2- on coolant line bracket.

5. Detach three lines at turbocharger and lay lines aside.
Close off bores immediately after detaching a line.
5.1. Detach vent line -1- to turbocharger oil tank. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.
5.2. Detach lower coolant line -2-. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.
5.3. Detach upper coolant line -3-. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.
5.4. Removal is the same as for bank 1-3.

6. Detach oil feed line -2- from turbocharger.

6.1. Unscrew M6 x 10 internal Torx screw and detach line.

7. Guide out oil feed line.
8. Replace O-rings on all lines and clean connections.
9. Make sure to check connection bores on turbocharger for dirt and clean carefully.
Installing oil feed line

NOTICE

-> Clean or replace dirty components.
1. Guide in oil feed line.
1.1. Protect the sealing flanges of the oil feed line from damage with plug.
1.2. Do not remove plug until just before installation.
Information
- Lightly grease the O-rings on the three outer lines on the turbocharger using Kluber Syntheso Glep only.
- The O-rings on the oil pressure lines must not be greased. Only apply a light coating of Kluber Syntheso Glep on the bore in the turbocharger.
Information
We recommend that you use the following tools to secure the internal Torx screw (oil pressure line) on the turbocharger:
- Torx screwdriver insert bits Nr.41 (Hazett 2223 lg T30).
- Change-over ratchet insert bit Nr.186 (Hazett 6408).
- Torque wrench Nr.90 Pos.2.
2. Remove plug from bore. First connect oil feed line -2- to turbocharger, then to cylinder head.
2.1. Then fit M6 x 10 internal Torx screw -3- on turbocharger and tighten.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

2.2. Fit new O-rings and coat lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
3. Remove plugs from coolant lines before installing to allow remaining coolant to drain away.
4. Attach the other three lines to the turbocharger with new O-rings.
4.1. Remove plug from bore. Attach upper coolant line -1- to turbocharger. Fit and tighten M6 x 10 internal Torx screw -2-. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

4.2. Remove plug from bore. Attach lower coolant line -1- to turbocharger. Fit and tighten internal Torx screw (M6 x 10) -2-. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

4.3. Remove plug from bore. Attach vent line -1- to turbocharger. Fit and tighten M6 x 10 internal Torx screw.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

5. Fit new O-rings and coat lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
6. Fit M6 x 12 external Torx screws -5 and 6- on coolant line bracket and tighten. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

7. Fit and tighten M6 x 12 external Torx screw at cylinder head -2- for oil feed line -1-. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)
7.1. Fit new O-rings and coat lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep.

8. Install rubber-coated holding clamp for oil feed line on camshaft housing cover.
8.1. Fit and tighten M6 x 12 external Torx screw -2 -. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

9. Install intake manifold, cylinder bank 1-3.
9.1. Fix intake manifold in place on the support in the engine compartment and then fasten it to the turbocharger flange.
9.2. Fit protective grille -1-.
9.3. Fit two M6 x 12 external Torx screws -2- at turbocharger intake manifold and tighten.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

9.4. Connect cable plug to electronic adjuster. Fit rubber sleeve.
9.5. Install vacuum line -2-.

1. Guide in oil feed line.
1.1. Protect the sealing flanges of the oil feed line from damage with a plug.
1.2. Do not remove plug until just before installation.
Information
We recommend that you use the following tools to secure the internal Torx screw (oil pressure line) on the turbocharger:

Information

2.1. Fit two M6 x 20 external Torx screws in turbocharger by hand and fasten. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)
2.2. Fit new O-rings and coat lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
3. Remove plugs from coolant lines before installing to allow remaining coolant to drain away.
4. Fit the other three lines on the turbocharger with new O-rings. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)
4.1. Installation is the same as for bank 1-3.
5. Fit new O-rings and coat lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
6. Fit and tighten M6 x 12 external Torx screw at fastening point -2- for coolant line and tighten.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

7. Fit and tighten M6 x 12 external Torx screw for oil feed line to cylinder head.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)
8. Attach rubber-coated holding clamp -2- for oil feed line -1- to bracket.
8.1. Fit and tighten M6 x 12 external Torx screw.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

9. Install intake manifold, cylinder bank 4-6.
9.1. Fix intake manifold in place on the support in the engine compartment and then fasten it to the turbocharger flange.
9.2. Fit and tighten M6 x 12 external Torx screws -Arrows- to turbocharger intake manifold.=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb)

9.3. Connect cable plug -1- to electronic adjuster.
9.4. Install vacuum line -3-.
9.5. Connect positive crankcase ventilation -4-.

9.6. Fit new O-ring and coat lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
Subsequent work
