Gap dimensions of rear lid

=> Gap dimension: 6 mm+/-1 mm





Rear lid to roof
=> Gap dimension: 1 mm+/-1 mm

=> Gap dimension: 0 mm+/-0.8 mm

Information

- Set gap dimensions on cover and accessories in accordance with the gap specifications.

- Given a clearance in the opening that is too large or too small, the movable body or the accessories must be centred accordingly.

- Ensure that the gaps do not run in a wedge-shaped fashion or do not narrow at local points.

- The given values are guidelines which should be observed as far as possible.

- The guidelines apply to repair and assembly work.

- Use star gauges to measure the gap dimensions. Star gauges for body gap dimensions NR.127-1

Checking rear lid lock

Function test on rear lid lock

1. Check the function of the rear lid lock.
1.1. Lock the lid lock using a screwdriver and then unlock it again using the lid release.
The lock must swivel out freely.
1.2. Check that the rear lid stays open automatically in the upper positions.
1.3. From the middle position, the rear lid must fall into the lock automatically and lock fully. (Only with gas-filled shock absorbers)
1.4. Perform a visual inspection to check that the lock releases again correctly.
2. Check electric operation of rear lid lock.
2.1. Open the lock using the electric release or remote control.
3. Check electric tailgate drive mechanism.
3.1. Check opening and closing function using the outer handle on the rear lid, the remote control and the switch in the driver's door.
3.2. It must be possible to stop rear lid operation at any time using all actuators.
3.3. Check the obstacle detection function.
Simulate an obstacle while opening and closing the lid by holding it firmly.
