Removing air deflector for sliding roof

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Open the sliding roof.
2. Press the air deflector down slightly and pull the bearing pin -1- inwards out of the bearing.

3. Remove air deflector.
4. Screw the air deflector spring -2- sideways out of the bearing and remove it.

Information

On a new air deflector, the sliding channel for the spring -2- and the bearing pin -1- for the bearing must be greased.





Greasing air deflector

Grease: => GREASE 958.564.902.00
1. Guide the air deflector forward with the rubber stops under the roof.
2. Guide the air deflector springs into the sliding channel.
3. Press the air deflector arms down and insert the bearing pin -1- into the air deflector bearing.

4. Check the power function of the air deflector and make sure that the vibration damper (tab in the middle) is facing upwards.

Subsequent work

Greasing

If you hear squeaking noises from the very front when closing the sliding roof, the upper side sliding surface of the air deflector must also be greased.
