WARNING
Incorrect handling of airbag units
- Triggering of airbag unit
- System faults can occur
-> Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
-> A voltage supply (e.g. battery charger) must not be connected to the external power supply/jump-lead starting terminals.
-> Disconnect the battery and insulate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier is avoided.
-> Wait 1 minute after disconnecting the battery.
-> Only pull off connector on the triggering unit after the waiting time has elapsed.
-> Make sure that no foreign objects are located in front of the airbag unit during installation.
-> Replace damaged parts during removal.
-> Always position the airbag unit in such a way that the airbag opening is facing upwards.
-> If removed for an extended period, the airbag unit must be stored in a safe place.
-> Airbag units must not come into contact with grease, oil, detergents, liquids, or similar substances.
-> Do not expose airbag units to temperatures above 90°.
-> Do not remove the short-circuit spring on the plug-in contacts.
-> Ignition and preparations may only be carried out by skilled staff, supervised by a second responsible person.
-> Before disposal, the airbag unit must be rendered harmless by electrical ignition performed in accordance with all precautionary measures, thereby preventing it from being used incorrectly.
Information

Information
Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.
Front seat
1. Move backrest all the way forward. Move front seat all the way up and all the way forward.
2. Release the caps -1- and pull them off the rear seat rails.

3. Unscrew fastening screws on the rear seat rails -2-.

4. Remove seat belt mount.
4.1. Disengage the cap -1- and slide it over the seat belt mount -2-.

4.2. Release retaining clip -3- on the seat belt mount using a suitable screwdriver. -arrow A-.

4.3. Push the seat belt mount over the retaining pin -arrow B- until the locking lug under the retaining pin loosens the clip.
4.4. Remove the seat belt mount from the retaining pin.
5. Move the front seat back fully and lower the rear seat surface.
6. Pull off remote control. Disconnect the battery. Route or isolate ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier (e.g. body, seat frame) is avoided. -> 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
7. Release the caps -3- and remove them from the front seat rails.

8. Unscrew fastening screws on the front seat rail -4-.

9. Tilt the front seat back.
10. Release and unplug electric plug connections for the driver's seat -1, 2 and 3-.

11. Release and unplug electric plug connections for the passenger's seat -1, 2 and 3-.

12. Carefully remove the front seat.
Installing front seat
Information

1. Place front seat in car and tilt backwards.
2. Plug in electric plug connections for driver's seat -1, 2 and 3-.

3. Plug in electric plug connections for passenger's seat -1, 2 and 3-.

4. Fold the front seat forward -arrow A- and align it on the seat frame with the centring pins -arrow B-.

5. Connect the battery -> 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2X00IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
WARNING
Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
-> Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
-> Observe specified tightening torques.
-> Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.
6. Move front seat all the way back. Screw in front fastening screws -4- only until the seat rails are touching the seat frame.

7. Move the front seat all the way forward and secure the front seat to the seat frame at the rear with fastening screws -2-.=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)+/-7.5 Nm (+/-5.5 ftlb.).

8. Carefully fit the rear caps -1-.

9. Move the front seat all the way back and secure the front seat to the seat frame at the front with fastening screws -4-.=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)+/-7.5 Nm (+/-5.5 ftlb.).

10. Fit the caps at the front -3- onto the seat rail.

11. Install seat belt mount.
11.1. Position seat belt mount -2- on the retaining pin -4- and pull upward until the retaining clip -3- locks with an audible click.

11.2. Pull on the belt strap. The retaining clip -3- must engage fully on the holder.
11.3. Slide the cap -1- over the seat belt mount -2- and lock it. The label on the seat belt must be pushed into the cap when you slide the cover down.
