Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Remove the relevant wheel housing liner. -> 507455 Replacing front wheel housing - section on "Removing"
2. Remove the relevant engine compartment cover. -> 700219 Removing and installing front cover (engine compartment) - section on "Removing"

1. Remove the air guide. -> 243619 Removing and installing air guide - section on "Removing" 243619 Removing and installing air guide
2. Loosen connections on the air cleaner covers. To do this, turn the bolts 180° and pull them out => Loosening connections on air cleaner. Pull off intake pipes.

3. Open the cover on the air cleaner housing.
To do this, unclip the two fastening clamps -arrows- using a suitable tool.

4. Fold the cover -1- of the air cleaner housing -2- forward at the top -A- and pull it out in an upward direction -B-.

5. Remove air-cleaner element. -> 242455 Replacing air-cleaner element - section on "Replacing" Service and Repair
6. Loosen the fastening screw -arrow- on the air cleaner housing.

7. Lift the air cleaner housing, tip it towards the engine and remove it from the engine compartment. => Air cleaner housing

1. Insert the air cleaner housing into the engine compartment at an angle from above. => Air cleaner housing

2. Guide the two retaining bolts on the underside into the take-up bores in the body -arrows-. From the wheel housing, check to make sure that the blue rubber washers are present and make sure that the bolts are fitted properly.

3. Tighten the fastening screw -arrow- on the air cleaner housing. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

4. Insert air-cleaner element. -> 242455 Replacing air-cleaner element - section on "Replacing" Service and Repair
5. Fit the cover -1- of the air-cleaner box using the side guides -2- on the air cleaner housing -3-.

5.1. Slide the cover down -A-.
5.2. The guides -4- on the cover must fit into the mountings -5- on the air cleaner housing.
6. Fold the cover -1- up towards the air cleaner housing -2- ( -A- ).

7. Clip in the two upper fastening clamps -arrows- on the air cleaner housing.

8. Slide the intake port into the cover of the air cleaner housing.
Push the bolts fully into the mountings and turn them 180° => Securing connections on air cleaner.

9. Insert the air guide into the air cleaner housing. -> 242519 Removing and installing air cleaner housing - section on "Installing"

1. Install the relevant wheel housing liner. -> 505619 Removing and installing front wheel housing liner - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Install the relevant engine compartment cover. -> 700219 Removing and installing front cover (engine compartment) - section on "Installing"
