Preliminary work

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818 prior to removing the "old" control unit. -> 373019 Replacing transmission control unit.

3. Remove inner door entry guard on the right. -> 680519 Removing and installing inner door entry guard - section on "Removing"

Removing transmission control unit

Information

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

- Assembly work must only be carried out if the mechanic is wearing the working clothes and shoes approved by Porsche.

- The new part must only be removed from the ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging just before installation and at the position at which the part is to be installed.

- Never touch the electric pins and plug contacts.

- Risk of damage to electrical load or to the control unit

-> Remove remote control and switch off ignition before disconnecting or removing electrical load.

1. Pull the carpet at the left to the side.
2. Release electric plug connection -1- ( -a- ) and unplug it.

3. Unscrew the fastening screw -2- on the control unit.
4. Pull the transmission control unit -3- out of the guides -4- and remove it.

1. Slide the transmission control unit -3- into the guides -4-.

2. Secure the transmission control unit with the fastening screw -2-.

3. Plug in electric plug connection -1- and lock it -a-.

Subsequent work

1. Install inner door entry guard on the right. -> 680519 Removing and installing inner door entry guard - section on "Installing"
2. Install right front seat. -> 720119 Removing and installing front seat - section on "Installing" 720119 Removing and Installing Front Seat
3. If the control unit was replaced, the "new" control unit must be adapted to suit the vehicle using PIWIS Tester II 9818. -> 373019 Replacing transmission control unit.
