Voltage drop

- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
- Risk of damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming

-> Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
-> Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
-> Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least => Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.

Information

- When the transmission is renewed/replaced, the adaptation values must be reset using the PIWIS Tester II 9818. Path: Tiptronic control unit, Drive links / Tests, Reset adaptation values.

- If a new control unit is installed, it must adapt first. Shifting quality may be poor during the adaptation phase.

- After the test drive, let the engine run for 10 minutes at idle speed. This ensures that all adaptation values are stored in the control unit.

- The procedure described here has been structured generally, changes or additions may be displayed.

- The PIWIS Tester 9718 instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy these are the instructions that must be followed. Deviations may occur with later software versions.

1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition and press F12 to continue.
2. Select vehicle type.
3. Select Maintenance/repairs.
4. Select Control unit replacement and press F12.
5. Select Read data and press F12.
6. Press F8 to start reading out data.
7. Check the chassis number and press F12.
8. Switch off ignition and replace Tiptronic control unit. -> 373019 Removing and installing Tiptronic control unit - section on "removing" 373019 Removing and installing transmission control unit
9. Switch on ignition. Select the Write data menu (procedure described above), press F12 and then press F8 to start installing the data that was read out.
10. The System Tester displays the message Data has been written. Press F12 to continue.
11. Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
12. Exit the menu and perform a test drive. Read out the fault memory for all control units after the test drive.
