Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair


WM 171119 Removing and installing oil level sensor

Preliminary work

WARNING

-> Let the fluid cool down.

WARNING

Highly inflammable or explosive materials

- Danger of fire or explosion

-> Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
-> Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
-> Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

2. Drain engine oil. -> 170117 Changing engine oil and oil filter - section on "Draining" Removal and Replacement
3. Support the engine on the body. -> 1001IN Supporting engine on the body 1001IN Supporting the engine on the body

Removing oil level sensor

1. Loosen engine mounting at the front left and right.
2. Raise the engine.
3. Release electric plug connection for oil level sensor -a- and unplug it.

4. Loosen the three fastening screws and pull the oil level sensor out of the oil pan. Oil will start to drip.

Information

Oil guide housing with accessories





1. Replace sealing ring for oil level sensor.
2. Fit oil level sensor. Turn carefully when inserting sensor. Tighten the three fastening screws.

3. Plug in electric plug connection until it engages securely.
4. Lower the engine.
5. Tighten the two fastening screws on the engine mounting at the front left and right.

Subsequent work

1. Fit engine guard. -> 108019 Removing and installing engine guard - section on "Installing" 108019 Removing and installing engine guard
2. Remove engine support. -> 1001IN Supporting engine on the body - section on "Removing" 1001IN Supporting the engine on the body
3. Fill in engine oil. -> 170117 Changing engine oil and oil filter - section on "Filling" Removal and Replacement
