Draining engine oil
WARNING
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
-> Let the fluid cool down.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
Information
Only use engine oils that have been tested and approved by Porsche AG.
- Dispose of waste oil in accordance with legal requirements in your country.
1. Open the luggage compartment lid.
2. Place a clean cloth under the service tray in the luggage compartment and open the flap -1-.

2.1. Open the engine-oil cap -1- on the service tray by turning it anti-clockwise.

3. Unscrew the oil drain plug at the oil pan (a/f 8 hexagon socket) and drain the engine oil into a suitable container.

3.1. Replace sealing ring.
4. After draining the engine oil, screw in the oil drain plug -1- with a new aluminium sealing ring -2-.

=> Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)
Changing oil filter
Information
- Never use a sharp object to remove or fit the O-ring on the oil filter cover.
- Do not scratch the sealing surface of the oil-filter housing.
1. The oil filter -1- is removed from below.
1.1. Place oil collection container under the work area.

2. Loosen the oil filter cover using release key 9204 (a/f 27) -1-.

3. Unscrew the oil filter cover and oil-filter cartridge with a cloth and remove it. Use a cloth to wipe up remaining oil.
3.1. Pull filter element -1- out of the housing and dispose of it.

3.2. Lever off the old O-ring on the filter cover -2- using a plastic spatula and dispose of it.
4. Clean oil filter cover thoroughly inside and out.
4.1. Fit new O-ring and grease lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No. 000.043.204.68).
5. Clean the oil-filter housing with a clean cloth.

6. Fit new filter element - it can be fitted on either side.
7. Screw in the oil filter cover and tighten with the release key 9204.

7.1. => Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)
Filling in engine oil
1. Place a sufficient number of clean cloths under the service tray in the luggage compartment.
CAUTION
Incorrect oil level
- Damage to engine and catalytic converter.
-> Always observe specification for oil fill quantities.

2. Slowly pour in new engine oil at the oil filler neck -arrow- using a clean container or fuel nozzle.
2.1. Observe the prescribed filling capacity.

3. Engine oil filling capacities:
3.1. => Filling capacity: 7.5 litres
3.2. => Filling capacity: 7.25 litres
=> Filling capacity: 10 litres
4. Place the engine-oil cap -1- at the displayed position.

4.1. Carefully tighten the cap -1- by turning it clockwise as far as it will go.
The oil pan should be horizontal when the cover is closed.

5. Check engine-oil level.
