Boost Control - Turbo
Boost Pressure Control Turbo
The boost pressure is detected by the boost-pressure sensor ahead of the electronic accelerator. Similar to the Panamera S, the intake air temperature is detected by the pressure sensor for the engine load at the rear of the intake manifold.
Boost pressure control takes place ahead of the throttle valve. The DME control unit regulates the boost pressure by activating the electric boost pressure control valve (installed on the left next to the electronic accelerator). This modulates a corresponding control pressure for activating the wastegate valves on the turbochargers. The boost pressure is therefore regulated to the boost pressure setpoint calculated in the DME control unit ahead of the electronic accelerator.
With the optional Sport Chrono Turbo Package the overboost function briefly increases the boost pressure (max. torque 770 Nm).
The graph shows the boost pressure curve for the Cayenne Turbo DFI engine at full throttle.
rpm - Engine speed in rpm
mbar - Boost pressure (in millibar absolute pressure)
blue - Basic boost pressure in emergency mode
purple - Boost pressure in normal mode
yellow - Boost pressure with Sport button activated
