Main wiring harness - PDK sub-part
Information:
Fault finding is difficult for a fault code indicating a short circuit to ground.
Guided Fault Finding (GFF) using the PIWIS Tester will only be available at a later date.
Action Required:
Information
Until such a time as the GFF (Guided Fault Finding using PIWIS Tester) becomes available, the following procedure must be observed before performing any other work:
If one or more of the fault codes above is reported
1. Remove cover for rear underbody, see Workshop Manual --> 519419 Removing and installing cover for rear underbody - section on "Removing".
2. Check PDK sub-part of the wiring harness (-red flag-) to see if the wiring harness is touching the PDK housing.
3. If the wiring harness is touching the PDK housing, carry out the following subsequent work:
3.1 Remove sub-part for PDK:
In the Workshop Manual, see --> 97095511 Replacing sub-part for PDK - section on "Loosening"
--> Complete Steps 1 to 6.
3.2 Pull the wiring harness as far as the cable duct into the passenger compartment.
3.3 Repair any damage to the wiring harness using the cable repair kit Nr.155-1 Pos.1.
3.4 Check dimension -item a- : It should be 100 mm.
If dimension -item a- is more than 100 mm, the rubber sleeve in area -item 1- must be moved in direction of arrow as far as dimension -item a-.
3.5 Also wrap protective tape (see cable repair kit Nr.155-1 Pos.1) around the wiring harness in the area between the rubber sleeve and cable duct.
3.6 Tighten existing tie-wrap on the cable duct.
3.7 Install sub-part for PDK:
In the Workshop Manual, see --> 97095511 Replacing sub-part for PDK - section on "Fastening" and follow the instructions
--> starting with Step 2.
End of action required.
