Starter not turning

NOTE: The message [Depress clutch pedal] appears on the instrument cluster after approx. 1.5 seconds each time the ignition key is operated.

Possible fault causes
- Clutch pedal only partly depressed during starting
(e.g. thick floor mat below the pedal)
- Clutch pedal is pressed only during the starting operation
- Short circuit to B+ or open circuit in signal line
- Holder for lower clutch switch (interlock) bent or loose
- Lower clutch switch (interlock) loose or faulty
