Diagnosis information - Control unit DME (DFI)

Intake pipe switchover

Diagnostic conditions

- Ambient pressure > 800 hPa
(= Location below approx. 1,800 ... 2,000 mm)
-->See Actual value ]A060 Ambient pressure from DME (measured)]
- Engine running
- Engine temperature > 20 °C (°F)
- Lambda control Active
- Mixture deviation per bank -10 % ... +10 %
-->See Actual values [L340 Upper fuel trim (FRAO) B1 + L350 Upper fuel trim (FRAO) B2]
(If there is NO longer any need for adaption in this area)
- Fullthrottle acceleration , at:
- Engine speed 2,500 1/min --> 3,400 1/min
- 4. gear or higher
- Gear must be maintained

- No fault entered for : Lambda control

Possible fault causes
- Vacuum line (Vacuum modulator at intake pipe pipe) Faulty
- Shift solenoid valve for Vacuum modulator at intake pipe stuck (See [Information])
- Vacuum modulator at intake pipe Faulty (See [Information])
- Flap stuck (open or Closed Closed)

INFORMATION
- Entrainment of engine oil into the vacuum system due to a faulty mechanical vacuum pump can result in the specified consequential faults.
- In this case, the entire vacuum system for the accessories (without brake booster circuit) must be checked for oil entrainment.
- All vacuum lines, connectors and components of the vacuum system that are soiled with oil must be replaced.

Diagnostic function
- Normal triggering of the flap occurs at approx. 4,000 1/min ..
- Diagnosis is performed by means of active activation. at:
- approx. 2,500 ... 3,400 1/min

- The diagnosis checks whether deviation of the oxygen sensors is as expected upon activation. at:
- Result OK --> Diagnosis ended
- Result not OK --> Diagnosis is repeated; at:
- Result OK --> Diagnosis ended
- Result not OK --> Diagnosis is repeated; at:
- Result OK --> Diagnosis ended
