P1572

Diagnosis information - Control unit DME (DFI)

Control unit run-on not ended correctly

INFORMATION
- The entered P-code 1572 merely indicates that the DME control unit did not have enough time to end all sequences properly between the time when the ignition was switched off and the power supply was interrupted (See [Information]).
- The control unit itself is in order.

Diagnostic conditions
- Vehicle voltage > 11 V
- Engine compartment and engine cold
- Engine running, then:
- Switch off ignition
- Switch on ignition after approx. 1 minute

Possible fault causes
- Supply voltage too low when starting engine
- DME (DFI) control unit reprogrammed
- During control unit operation (engine on, ignition on or control unit run-on):
- Connector B unlocked or unplugged from DME (DFI) control unit
- Power supply to DME (DFI) control unit interrupted

- Power supply to DME (DFI) control unit faulty

Fault setting condition(s)
- Control unit run-on was not ended properly (See [Information]).

INFORMATION
- After the ignition is switched off (terminal 15), the DME control unit switches to control unit after-run mode.
- The run-on period depends on many boundary conditions (e.g. engine temperature for fan operation).
The run-on duration can be 1 minute when the engine is cold and up to 45 minutes when the engine is hot.
