Reversing Light Switch

P306B0

Diagnostic information - Tiptronic

Reversing light switch

NOTE: The ignition must be switched off and then switched on again in order to display a fault message in the instrument cluster.

Diagnostic conditions
The control unit must be active in order to test internal function sequences and diagnosable inputs/outputs.
In the event of a fault, check whether the fault is permanently >present<. To perform the check, erase the fault memory, meet the diagnostic conditions and read out the fault memory again.

The following requirements are fulfilled for min. 0.5 seconds:
- Voltage greater than 10.2 V and less than 15.5 V
- Ignition on
- Tiptronic control unit, internal function test, successful
- No fault on multi-function switch

Possible fault causes
- [Open circuit / short circuit to ground]
- [Short circuit to B+]

The type of fault [Open circuit/short circuit to ground] is saved, when a shift is made to gear [R] and the signal for the [Reversing light switch] is [OFF] for longer than 1 second.
The fault type [short circuit to B+] is stored when gear [D] is engaged and the [reversing light switch] signal is ON for longer than one second.

Fault effects
- Fault display in multi-function display in instrument cluster
