- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit

- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
- Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
- Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
- Connect a battery with a current rating of at least Nominal Value: 40A to the vehicle battery.
1. PIWIS Tester 2 9818 must be connected to the vehicle. Then start the System Tester. Switch on ignition.
2. Select vehicle type.
3. In the "Control Unit Overview", press F7 to continue.
4. Select the menu "Read out all fault memories and erase them if necessary" and press F12 to continue.
5. Proceed in accordance with the instructions on the Tester.
6. If faults are present, analyze the faults, create VAL and work through faults in accordance with the fault-finding strategy "Guided Fault Finding" if necessary.

Information:
If the engine oil is replaced during service, the maintenance interval must be reset.
1. Select "Instrument Cluster" control unit on the Porsche System Tester and press ">>"
2. Select the "Maintenance/Repairs" menu.
3. Select the "Reset Maintenance Interval" menu and press ">>".
4. Follow instructions on the Tester and press ">>".
5. Select the maintenance work that was carried out and press ">>".
6. Follow instructions on the Tester and press "F8" to start the function.
7. Exit the menu, shut down the Porsche System Tester and disconnect it from the vehicle.
