This Quick Information is valid until October 31, 2011
Vehicle Type:
Cayenne S (92A)/Cayenne Turbo (92A)
Concerns:
DME control unit diagnosis using PIWIS Tester II
Information:
Incorrect ambient conditions displayed in DME control unit fault memory
On vehicles manufactured from week 32/2011 onwards, incorrect or implausible values are displayed in PIWIS
Tester II when displaying the ambient conditions in the DME control unit fault memory.
This is caused by a change in the DME control unit software, which is not compatible with the current PIWIS Tester II software.
As a result, the values that are output are misinterpreted and displayed incorrectly by the current PIWIS Tester II software.
The ambient conditions will still be displayed incorrectly with the next PIWIS Tester II software version 9.800.
Please bear this in mind during DME control unit diagnosis and when carrying out any fault finding.
Information
This fault will be corrected with PIWIS Tester II software version 9.900 (which should be available from week 40/2011) so that the ambient conditions for the vehicles specified above will then be displayed correctly again using PIWIS Tester II.
