Diagnosis information - Control unit DME (DFI)

Valve lift control Bank 1
- Only Panamera V6 and V8S (not Turbo)

Diagnostic conditions
Diagnostics operates in 2 steps:

1. Engine start followed by idling > 15 Second(s),
(Catalytic converter heating measure, Idle speed 1,150 1/min, large valve lift) at:
- Vehicle is stationary
- Selector-lever position P or N
- Accelerator pedal NOT pressed
- Engine start temperature -10 ... +40 °C (°F) (Actual value T020/T070)
- Intake air temperature at Engine start -10 ... +40 °C (°F) (Actual value T040/T042)
- Intake air temperature at Engine start = Engine start temperature +/-25 °C (°F)

2. then Engine running > 30 Second(s),
(Idle speed 635 1/min, small valve lift) at:
- Vehicle is stationary
- Selector-lever position P or N
- Accelerator pedal NOT pressed
- Engine temperature > 70 °C (°F) (Actual value T020)
- Engine oil temperature > 40 °C (°F) (Actual value T030)

Possible fault causes
- Engine oil pressure too high or too low
- Loose contact or corrosion on connectors or lines (Power supply Solenoid valve, hydraulic valve lift control)

Fault setting condition(s)
- Based on the oscillation behavior of the camshafts, the diagnostic function detects that not all valves have switched to the other lift during the valve-lift switchover phase.
