Variant coding not valid

Diagnostic conditions
The control unit first tests internal function sequences when the ignition is switched on (terminal 15). If they are OK, all diagnosable outputs are then tested and any faults are stored.

- Ignition on

Possible fault causes
- Incorrect program and data versions programmed
- Incorrect coding in vehicle order

Fault setting conditions
- Programmed data record is not valid
- Coding in vehicle order is not valid

Fault effects
- No power transmission
- Transmission limp-home display in the instrument cluster control unit

Fault remedy
- Update of the correct program version according to country identifier
- Check of the vehicle order
