A/C COMPRESSOR-TO-CONDENSER HOSE PROTECTION SLEEVE

Information

On some 1983 Alliance models with air conditioning, the A/C compressor-to-condenser hose may rub against the compressor mounting ear or radiator baffle during normal hose flexing.

To prevent any wear of the hose outer surface, a protector sleeve should be installed over the hose when performing any other underhood service.


Procedure

1. Unsnap the radiator upper mounting clip and tilt the radiator back for access to the compressorto-condenser hose.

2. Cut protector sleeve 8936 000 809 to a length of 300 mm (12-inches) and slide the sleeve over the hose and the original rubber hose protector. Be sure to position the sleeve in the hose area most likely to rub against the compressor and radiator baffle.

NOTE: The sleeve is slit along its entire length for quick installation over the hose.

3. Tilt the radiator forward and snap the mounting clip into place.
