Valve Clearance: Adjustments

Fig. 13 Valve adjusting sequence.:

1. Connect a remote control starter switch between the starter solenoid and the battery.
2. Disconnect the coil ignition lead.
3. Crank over engine until the exhaust valve on cylinder 1 is fully open. (Cylinder 1 is next to the flywheel.) Adjust the intake valve on cylinder No. 3 and the exhaust valve on cylinder No. 4.
4. Repeat step 3 to adjust the remaining valves, refer to Fig. 13 for sequence.
