SAFETY RECALL # 425 -- ENGINE COOLANT BOTTLE CAP
^ This safety recall applies only to 1985, 1986 & 1987 Alliance and 1985 & 1986 Encore passenger cars.
^ Revised engine coolant system bottle caps are being mailed directly to owners known to Chrysler for replacement by them. The mailing will begin with owners in Southern states and continue to other states as sufficient caps become available. Owners will be instructed to bring the caps to dealers for the replacement service if preferred.
^ Each dealer is urged to replace caps on all involved cars at the dealership including any in new car stock carstock or in the service shop, prior to releasing them.
^ Five replacement caps are being supplied to each Jeep/Eagle dealer at dealer cost to service cars in the above categories. More can be ordered from your Parts Distribution Center as needed.
^ The new cap has a high dome and is black in color. It replaces the existing brown and white or solid brown cap.
^ When submitting claims for vehicle service, enter Standard Repair Time (SRT), TIC and Supplier Codes only until you are able to enter claims on the DIAL System. After you are able to use the DIAL System, all claims must be entered using Chrysler Labor Operation Numbers (LOPs). See Completion Reporting and Reimbursement section of the dealer letter for applicable codes/LOPs.
