Instrument Cluster / Carrier: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering wheel as follows:
a. Remove steering wheel cover.
b. Scribe index mark between steering wheel and shaft, then loosen but do not remove steering wheel retaining nut.
c. Grasp steering wheel and give it a quick pull to disengage wheel from shaft. Do not tap against steering shaft to release wheel as the steering column will be damaged.
d. Remove retaining nut and the steering wheel.

2. Remove small cover A from lower right side of cluster to gain access to lower bezel retaining screw B, Fig. 5.
3. Remove cluster bezel retaining screws B and C, disconnect electrical connectors as needed, then remove the bezel.
4. On models with analog cluster, remove cluster retaining screws. On models with digital cluster, press down and release 2 retainers at top of cluster.
5. Pull cluster away from instrument panel, disconnect electrical connectors and speedometer cable as needed, then remove cluster.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure steering wheel is properly aligned on shaft and torque steering wheel nut to 33 ft.lbs.
