Lower Ball Joint Replace

Upper

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
2. Install spacer between lower control arm pivot bolt and shock absorber lower mount. This will keep spring compressed.
3. Disconnect upper ball joint from spindle.
4. Remove caster link nut and ball joint retaining bolts from upper arm, then remove ball joint.
5. Reverse procedure to install.

Lower

1. Remove lower control arm from vehicle as described previously.
2. Remove heads of rivets securing ball joint to lower arm, then punch out rivets.
3. Install new ball joint using nuts and bolts supplied with replacement joint. Install bolts with bolt heads on ball joint bellows side of control arm.
4. Install lower control arm.
