Subject: California Emissions Recall # 454 -- Catalytic Converter

Models: The Following Renault Alliance and Encore Passenger Cars Equipped With a California Emission System:

^ 1985 & 1986 Model Year With 1.7L Engine

^ 1987 Model Year With 1.7L or 2.0L Engine


The listed model vehicles may be in violation of California Emissions Standards as a result of catalyst deterioration. To correct the condition, an improved (blanketless) catalytic converter must be installed to replace the original.

Cars identified through our warranty records which have already been repaired by installing the improved catalytic converter have been excluded from the recall population.
