To Remove/Dismantle
TO REMOVEWhen removing the primary chaincase, follow the description for dismantling the gearbox.
TO DISMANTLE
1. Remove the bolts and remove the primary chaincase cover.
2. Remove the chain tensioner.
3. Remove the circlip for the lower sprocket and release the circlip on the inside of the opening in the upper chain sprocket.
4. Remove the chain sprockets and chains simultaneously. Sliding hammer 83 90 270 and tool 87 90 834 may have to be used for removing the sprocket.
5. Remove the circlip for the bearing in the upper sprocket.
6. Use sleeve 87 90 842 to press the bearing out of the upper chain sprocket.
7. Remove the four recessed Allen screws and remove the bearing support at the gearbox input shaft.
8. Press the gearbox input shaft out of the primary chaincase.
9. Remove the circlip and press the ball bearing off the input shaft.
10. Remove the needle bearing circlip and use a drift to tap the needle bearing out of the primary chaincase.
11. Use a screwdriver to remove the clutch shaft seal.
