Test procedure

1 If the TCS CTRL lamp is on and the car goes into Limp Home mode, the rpm signal from the ETS control unit will also be absent. If this happens, carry out the fault tracing procedure for fault codes 4/24420 and 4/24221 4/24221, 4/24420 and 4/24390 and 4/24391 4/24390, 4/24391, 4/24490

2 Check the OR lead between the ETS and ASR control units for continuity or shorting. Disconnect both control units and measure the resistance between pin 12 of the ETS control unit and pin 18 of the ASR control unit. The correct resistance is approx. 0 ohms.

3 Check that the earth connection of the ASR control unit is correct.

4 If the above checks out OK, clear the fault code and drive the car on test. If the fault code is generated afresh, try an ASR control unit that is known to be good.
