DTC 42482 - Bulb 2 SRS Symbol Short to Battery Positive
MALFUNCTION
Diagnostic trouble code 42482: Bulb 2 in SRS symbol, shorting to battery positive (bulb connected to pin 22 of the connector at control module 331)
NOTE: Shorting to battery positive can be noticed by the SRS symbol going out between flashes during the first five minutes when the ignition is switched ON.
For cars with an airbag on the passenger's side: Remove the lower cover and unplug the passenger airbag connector H2-80. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 via cable 86 11 378 into the connector.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. Unscrew the steering wheel airbag module and unplug the connector at the rear of the airbag. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector.
2. Check lead 920 between pin 8 of the pictogram (SRS indicator) connector and pin 22 of the connector at control module 331 for shorting to battery positive.
3. Check for a possible internal short-circuit in the bulb. Change as necessary.
