Valve Guide: Service and Repair

NOTE: Flush the cylinder head with hot water before removing the valve guides.











REMOVAL
Withdraw the valve guides using special tool 83 93 803 with pull rod 83 93 811, spacer sleeve 83 93 829 and nut 83 93 845, or equivalents.

NOTE: Before fitting the guides, flush the cylinder head with hot water and cool the guides by immersing them in cold water.











INSTALL
1. Insert the valve guide from above and apply the tool from below.
2. Center the tool in the valve seat and fit the guides using special tool 83 93 803 together with pull rod 83 93 811, stop 83 93 837, centering sleeve 83 90 379 and nut 83 93 845, or equivalents.
3. Run the 7.0-mm undersize reamer, 83 93 944, or equivalent through the guide.
4. Follow up with the 7.0-mm H7 valve guide reamer.
