Installation

1. Thoroughly clean the flanges on the oil pan and block using a suitable solvent.





2. Apply an even bead of Permatex Ultra Blue 45-3020856 along the oil pan flange.





3. Install the rubber seal for the oil strainer in the groove on the oil pan.





4. Install the oil pan, front edge first and then the back. Install the bolts, leaving them slack to start with.





5. Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.), starting with those in the middle of the oil pan.

NOTE: the longer bolt with washer which goes in the middle on the RH side.

6. Install the two rubber plugs in the back of the transmission case and return the edge of the splash plate to its original position.





7. Install the bolt securing the oil pan to the transmission case at the bottom.





8. Plug the connector onto the oil-level sensor. Lower the car.





9. Align the engine over its mountings and lower it into position. Remove the lifting beam.





10. Install the tie rod between the wheel arch and subframe.
11. Remove the rag from the dipstick tube and put back the dipstick. Raise the car.
12. Install the bolts in the front and rear engine mountings.





13. Install the front section of the exhaust pipe and the Lambda sensor.
14. Install the fender liner.
15. Install the wheel, tightening the bolts to 130 Nm (96 ft. lbs.).
16. Lower the car and fill up the engine oil. Run the engine up to normal temperature and check for leaks.
