Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Powertrain Management
2. Pull the multi-groove belt hard upwards an fix the belt tensioner with lock clamp 83 94 488, or equivalent.
3. Remove the A/C compressor and bent it to one side.
4. Undo the exhaust manifold nuts.

NOTE: that there are only sleeves on the outer studs.

5. Remove the exhaust manifold complete with gasket.





INSTALL
1. Clean the surfaces and fit the exhaust manifold complete with new gasket. Note that there are only sleeves on the outer studs. Tightening torque 25 Nm (18.5 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the A/C compressor and attach the belt.
3. Lift the multi-groove belt hard upwards and remove the lock clamp.
4. Install the turbocharger.
