On-Board Diagnostics

- If a connector is unplugged while the ignition is switched ON, this will be recorded as a fault in the system. The fault will be stored in memory until it is cleared.

- External Fault Codes pertain to components outside the control module; Internal Fault Codes pertain to the control module itself.

- Permanent (persistent) faults: faults recorded by the control module which are still present when the ignition is switched OFF.

- Intermittent (sporadic) faults: faults recorded by the control module which are not present just when the ignition is switched OFF.
