Band: Service and Repair

PUSHROD FOR ADJUSTING BRAKE BAND C

NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.





Removal
1. Remove the valve body cover and valve body.
2. Undo the locknut on the adjusting screw
- Wrench size 22 mm.
3. Unscrew the adjusting screw
- Allen wrench size = 6 mm.
4. The dowel can now be pushed out using a suitable drift.





Adjusting/Fitting
1. Install the O-ring on the dowel and install dowel in housing.
- Some versions have two O-rings.
2. Screw in the adjusting screw.
- Tightening torque: 10 Nm (88 inch lbs.)





IMPORTANT: While tightening, cylinder B should be turned. Otherwise, there is a danger of the brake band becoming misaligned.

3. Mark both the adjusting screw and gear case.
4. Back off the adjusting screw two turns.
5. Install the nut.
- Hold the adjusting screw while tightening the nut.
- Wrench size = 22 mm.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
6. Install valve body and valve body cover.
