Fault Code 4/24262Malfunction indicated
No signal from wheel sensors/ABS control unit. This fault code usually means that all wheel speed pulses from the ABS control unit are absent.
Fault symptom
TCS CTRL lamp on, no TCS function, Cruise Control not working.
Test procedure
Note: If the car has been driven under abnormal conditions, e.g. on rollers, first check the 10 A fuse (red) in the ABS fuse holder.
1 Check that the correct ABS control unit is fitted.
2 If fault codes have been set because of faults in the ABS system, deal with these faults first.
3 Check the grey, blue, yellow and green leads between the ABS and ASR control units. Also check connector H1O-12 for continuity or poor contact.
One way of doing this is to check the speed pulses using a BOB (pins 8, 9, 10 and 21) while rotating the relevant wheel by hand.
4 If no fault can be determined, clear the fault code and drive the car on test. If the fault code is set afresh, try an ABS control unit which is known to be good.
