Motronic 2.8.1 Engine Management System

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The Motronic engine management system mainly controls ignition and fuel injection.

The Motronic 2.8.1 system is fitted on model year 1995 and later Saab 9000 cars equipped with a B308 engine.

To obtain as uniform a torque curve as possible, the B308 engine features a variable intake manifold.
It's operation is controlled by the Motronic electronic control module.

In other respects, the engine management system is similar to the Motronic 2.8.1 fitted to Saab 900 cars equipped with the B258 engine.
