Kick-Down Cable Seizing
FAULT SYMPTOM
Kick- down cable seizing.
ACTION
NOTE: Fill in the test form. When returning items, the test form should be included.
- Checking kick-down cable.
Investigate following causes.
- Kick-down cable has become detached from throttle cam:
Remove the valve body cover and valve body.
Hook on the kick-down cable.
If necessary, change the kick-down cable.
- Kick-down cable outside the throttle cam groove:
Remove the valve body cover and valve body.
Install the kick-down cable in the groove.
- Throttle cam deformed:
Remove the valve body cover and valve body.
Change the throttle cam.
- Throttle cam spring damaged:
Change the spring.
- High friction in kick-down cable casing:
Change the kick-down cable.
- Throttle pressure valve seizing:
Dismantle the valve body and check the valve.
