Disassembly/Assembly

NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.





Replacement
1. Place the differential housing in a screw vice with jaw protectors.
- Remove the final gear wheel's screws with external torx and tap out the final gear wheel with a plastic hammer.





2. Before reinstalling the final gear wheel, place it in water at a temperature of 50° C for about 10 minutes.
- Tap the final gear wheel on to the differential housing with a plastic hammer.
3. Turn the final gear wheel so that the milled surface faces the flange of the differential housing.
- Install new screws and tighten alternately.
- Tightening torque: 69-75 Nm (51-55 ft. lbs.).
