Rear Manifold

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery lead and the oxygen sensor cables and raise the car.
2. Detach the joint with the three-way catalytic converter, undo the nuts between the exhaust manifolds and the front exhaust pipe and lower the pipe.

NOTE: There are gaskets between the exhaust manifolds and the front exhaust pipe.

3. Lower the car and undo the upper nuts on the exhaust manifold.

WARNING: The edges of the heat shield may be sharp.

4. Raise the car and remove the lower nuts. Lift down the exhaust manifold complete with gasket.





INSTALLATION
1. Clean the surfaces and fit the exhaust manifold complete with new gasket. Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
2. Thread in the front exhaust pipe and bolt it to the exhaust manifolds. Use new gaskets. Tightening torque 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Bolt the joints together under the car and lower the car.
4. Connect the oxygen sensor cables and the negative battery lead.
