Complete Valve Body
NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.1. Install ball and restrictions.
- Be careful that the right restriction is installed in the right place and the right way up.
- The following parts are installed:
a. Ball (922), traction valve 30; diameter 6 mm.
b. Restriction (91 6/II), clutch C
c. Restriction (640/I), clutch E
d. Restriction (908/II), brake band C'
e. Restriction, (750/I), accumulator C'1
f. Restriction (830/I), time control valve
g. Restriction (912/II), brake band C1
2. Install the lower part of the valve body.
NOTE: Remember that the lower part of the valve body must not lifted after it has been placed on the valve body.
3. Grip the valve body and turn it upside down.
- The parts of the valve body must not slide apart.
4. Install the two balls.
a. Ball, throttle pressure valve, shifting 1-2; diameter 4 mm.
b. Ball, throttle pressure valve, shifting 2-3; diameter 4 mm.
5. Install the separator plate.
NOTE: Remember that the separator plate must not be lifted when it is on the valve body.
6. Install the upper part of the valve body and lightly tighten the four screws.
7. Install gasket and cover and lightly tighten the five screws.
8. Check that the parts of the valve body are directly above each other and then torque tighten all screws.
NOTE: Start with the screw in the center and then tighten the other screws around, finishing with the screws along the outer edges.
a. Screws, accumulator housing.
Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4 ft. lbs.)
b. Screws, small cover on upper part of valve body.
Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4 ft. lbs.)
c. Screws, cover.
Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4 ft. lbs.)
d. Screws, upper part of valve body.
Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4 ft. lbs.)
9. Install the complete valve body to the transmission.
CAUTION: If there was dirt in the valve body, flushing equipment tool No. 87 91 824, or equivalent, should be connected to the transmission cooling system before starting the engine.
