Upper Section

NOTE: Component identifier numbers used in the following illustrations relate to specific steps in the procedures below.





1. Remove the metal cover on one side of the valve body, five screws.
2. Remove the spring and upshift valve 2-3-4.
3. Remove the outer shift valve 1-2.
4. Remove the cover on the underside of the valve body, six screws.
- Hold your hand against the cover so that it does not fly off as there are several springs inside.
5. Lift out the valves.
- Place them on the bench in the same order as they are installed in the valve body so that they can be reinstalled correctly.
- Do not mix up the parts.
- The following parts are removed:
a. Spacer, 4-3-2 valve
b. Pin, 4-3-2 valve
c. Spring, 4-3-2 valve
d. 4-3-2 valve
e. Spring, lock-up valve 4-3
f. Lock-up valve 4-3
g. Spring, throttle pressure valve
h. Spring, lock-up valve 2nd
i. Lock-up valve 2nd
j. Spring, shift valve 1-2
k. Inner shift valve 1-2
6. Remove the clip and then take out the throttle pressure valve.
