Fault Conditions

P0133

O2S Circuit. Slow Response. Sensor 1.

Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE.

On-Board Diagnostics

Type of diagnosis:
- Once per driving cycle. Interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled or OK reported. Restarts next driving cycle.

Enable criteria:
- General conditions for this trouble code: Atmospheric pressure must exceed 72 kPa and the engine coolant and intake air temperature must exceed -7 degree C.
- Engine running for 3 min. Car driven at engine speed 1300-2200 rpm with load corresponding to 250-500 mg/c (air mass/combustion). Closed loop active and stable. Air mass/combustion stable. Purging active. Coolant temperature above 70 degree C. When all the criteria have been fulfilled, the number of ignitions during 2 sensor transitions is counted.

Fault criteria:
- Number of combustions exceeds 95.

Dependents:
- P0115, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0131, P0132 and P0134.

System reaction to a fault:
- None.

OK report:
- Diagnosis performed once and fault criteria not fulfilled.

Fault handling: (For more information, Fault Handling III, Other Emission-Related Components and Function)

- Type III.

Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns an internal fault in the sensor.

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
- Diagnostic status for the diagnosis.
- Oxygen Sensor Value, unit V.

For more information refer to description of read values, Menu Read Values

NOTE: Oxygen sensor receives reference oxygen from the surrounding air via the connecting cables. For this reason, electrical contact spray or grease must not be used on the oxygen sensor connector.
